The ultimate guide to deleting your facebook community account

Do you have multiple profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter? I am often asked how to delete the extra profile, so this post will walk you through how to get rid of the extra/unwanted profiles you may have.LinkedIn - Log in to your unwanted account. First make note of any connections that you will want to re-establish with the profile you are keeping. Yes, you will have to re-connect with each one, but it is a small price to pay to delete the extra profile.

how to delete facebook community account

Facebook - Log in to the facebook profile you would like to delete. Make sure you keep track of friends you want to invite to your permanent profile, you will need to send new friend requests to move them over. Next, click on settings and then scroll to the bottom of the page. The last option is deactivate account, click. Select the reason why you are deactivating your account, then click deactivate my account. You may have to enter a security check, enter the letters on the screen and click continue. Your account is now deleted.

Twitter - Log into the Twitter account you want to delete. Just with the previous two sites, make note of any people you want follow. You can also send a tweet letting your followers know where to find you. Once you are within the account you want to delete, click on settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click delete account. Continue through the process until your account is deleted.

I wanted to use my facebook with my changed email id but when I opened the facebook app, that kept showing 'alert with setting and ok buttons' so I touched 'setting' then sending me "setting>general>privacy>facebook" because of that I couldn't login and couldn't use the fb app. so I tried "general > privacy > facebook > delete this facebok account"

Apparently, this is not an isolated issue. I have an old Facebook account that I deactivated. I have a new Facebook account that I created and installed on my ipad (which is also running the newest iOS). One of my apps requires me to connect through Facebook, but no matter what I do, my ipad keeps trying to find my old Facebook account. I have done all the suggestions...I logged in from my laptop and deleted Facebook fom my iTunes library, then synced it up to my ipad, then reinstalled the app with my new info; however, that did not solve my problem. The delete button under settings does nothing and none of my passwords work because the old Facebook account is deactivated. This really is a bad reflection on Apple...nothing is more frustrating than spending a ton of money on a piece of technology that has bugs that cannot be fixed....

Meg, I did that already...several times and also delete it and tried to reinstall it. It will not recognize my Facebook account because my ipad defaults to my deactivated Facebook account that I cannot log into anyway.

To begin the deletion process, first, log into your account. Facebook recommends that you download your Facebook information before you delete an account. You can access account information download options in the settings menu.

The interface will ask you to confirm your password and confirm your desire to delete your account. This sets in motion the process of deletion, which may take up to 90 days. When you delete your account, your data is no longer attached to your account.

Facebook offers a form that allows you to report that a user is medically incapacitated or deceased. Fill this out with the information requested. The form will ask whether you want to memorialize the account or delete it.

By choosing to delete your Facebook account, you opt to have a less complex and cluttered digital legacy, which can be a nice resolution if you are trying to simplify your digital accounts. Anyone handling your digital assets after death will have less to keep track of.
